You sound hypocritical... P.S. Because people criticize Reagan doesn't mean they are 'gloating'-- that is propaganda on your part, and not very smart propaganda at that. posted by: WinstonSmith (reply) post date: 06.07.04 (11:21 am) "monkeyboys"??? that's real "kind" isn't it??? you folks on the right sure are blind to your own hypocrisy aren't you!!! posted by: newbie (reply) post date: 06.07.04 (11:39 am) Please tell me where the "gloating tone, and gleeful disrepect" is in this Tblog: http://www.tblog.com/templates/index.php?bid=WinstonSmith&static=197242 Your insulting use of "monkeyboys" is not consistent with your own preachy, whiny tone about kindness. posted by: WhyNot (reply) post date: 06.07.04 (2:13 pm) Reply to: WinstonSmith "If you are against the "Cult of Death" why aren't you oposed to Bush's Death Cult in Iraq...." Couldn't put it better, Winston - how come you have this way with words, you lucky bastard :-) Ok, Lynn: Why are you such a bigot? Why is that you preach love and tolerance on one hand (or claim to, at least) - on the grounds of your religious beliefs - and yet deny the most atrocious human rights violations have (and are still) happened in the world, on the grounds your Church/beliefs says it's ok? Is it a hangover from 15th century European Inquisition days? Worse still, how can you conciliate the poor old man (the Pope) repeatedly condemning Bush's fascist and murderous deeds with your own religious views? Lastly, why on earth is the fact a man was once a US president should make him immune from any criticism? Do you think America is sacred and it can do no wrong? Do you think only America is right all the time, and any other country is by definition wrong? Do you think THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT is another Pope yet, and the direct and unfailable angel from God? That IS excatly the kind of talk ppl in my own country used to believe for centuries. The king was the Envoy of God. He could do no wrong. If he murdered ppl by the million, it was all in the name of God's mysteriously fucked ways. Somehow, thank goodness, we've progressed from that imbecillic viewpoint. But apparently, you would like the US to jump back 5 centuries and adopt the same inane views, right? ALL heads of state in France/Germany/US etc, whether kings, presidents or whatever, were but simple human beings. Some were pretty good (few, unfortunately), lots were total assholes, and most were in between. I see nothing wrong in denouncing Général De Gaulle as a fascist asshole in the later years of his ruling France and butchering the north African continent, even if he was a pretty good guy in his early days during WW2. Similarly I don't see anything wrong with saying Raegan was mostly a corrupt, ignorant and stupid asshole as a whole. I'm sure he did a few thing right, but by and large he's certainly not a leader America should proud to have had. Some of your presidents were better than others, thank goodness, some were the pits, and most were in between. What is you big problem with judging them as men? Why do you infer that, since they were PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES, he is inherently a saint and must be revered as such? What do you sniff on a daily basis? |
