Did Solomon Prophesy the Demise of the Church?
05.24.07 (1:23 pm)   [edit]

In a little-known passage from Sacred Scripture, it appears that King Solomon predicted the demise of the Church, as he did that of the Jewish Temple, which he himself had built. His description of the day when the Faith and its sacred ceremonies would be abandoned sounds exactly like the current situation of the Roman Catholic Church of JP2, the not so great [who ruined the Rosary] and Benedict Ratziger [who ruined the Stations of the Cross], when so many of those who call themselves "Catholic" have abandoned God's Faith and traditional sacred ceremonies, and when a battered Church is paying the penalty for that abandonment:

But if you and your children revolting shall turn away from following me, and will not keep my commandments, and my ceremonies, which I have set before you, but will go and worship strange gods, and adore them. I will take away Israel from the face of the land which I have given them. And the temple which I have sanctified to my name, I will cast out of my sight. And Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people. And this house shall be made an example of. Every one that shall pass by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss, and say: Why hath the Lord done thus to this land, and to this house? And they shall answer: Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and followed strange gods, and adored them, and worshipped them. Therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil? (3 Kings 9:6-9/DRV)

This passage provides a clear answer to the question that all too many ask: Why has the Lord brought upon the Church all this evil? The answer is that the the Church and its Presbyters have forsaken their God and worshipped strange gods.
