Katrina telethon draws stars; can they speak out? Sep 08 8:47 AM US/Eastern By Steve Gorman
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Recording stars Sheryl Crow, Alicia Keys, Paul Simon, Neil Young and the Dixie Chicks will headline a telethon for Hurricane Katrina victims slated to air this week on six major U.S. networks and around the world, producers said on Wednesday.
But it was not clear whether they or any of the other celebrities booked for Friday's event, including comedian Chris Rock and movie star Jack Nicholson, will be permitted to freely express their opinions during the show or required to stick to the script.
Why should anyone care about 'stars' being able to speakout on a telethon? They would only show how ignorant they are if they did. When someone is hire to do a job for an employer, they should work for there boss, or company. They should not work against them. If they feel that they cannot do that, then they should move on and go somewhere else.
Besides who the hell care what these yokels think anyway? Day after endless day they prove on stage and screen and unending 'hollywood tonight entertainment news' type shows just how little thinking that they are actually capable of, and it is not much. They are entertainers, not thinkers after all. Playing a doctor on tv is not the same as going to medical school and years of practice to be one in 'real life'. Give us a break. If half the people trying to bring down the government, if favor of another equally if not worse government of the tired same old wacked out Liberals as are parading around now, would put that same energy into building a sane third party that we could vote for and have an alternative to the 2 snot bucket parties we have now, then we'd have something; hope for real change.
